About center

The Eurasian Media Studies Center was founded on the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University,  on December 18, 2020. The mission of the EMSC is to unite the intellectual potential of the member states in order to enhance the interaction of the leading centers of journalistic education of the EAEU countries in the field of media studies and training of qualified personnel, as well as the subsequent activation of the Eurasian dialogue in media.

The EAEU Library of media systems, media and journalism research has no analogues in the post-Soviet states and contains materials that can serve as a basis for research, thematic educational programs, as well as the engineering and promotion of the EAEU brand in the global information space and in the member states.

The Сenter is open for the entry of universities, research centers of the EAEU countries, as well as independent researchers and practicing journalists, whose activities are related to the issues of coverage of еру Eurasian integration and the study of media, journalism and national media systems of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

EMSC Membership Academicians and personnel of the universities, research centers of the EAEU countries, as well as practicing journalists, whose activities are related to the issues of coverage of Eurasian integration, and independent media researchers can join the Eurasian Media Studies Center.

Russian language ranked fifth in the world

At the end of 2022, the Russian language ranked fifth in terms of competitiveness in the world. Andrey Shcherbakov, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Philology of the Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language, announced this at a Kostomarovsky forum’s press conference on the Russia Today media group basis.
