The information sphere is one of the priority areas for the development of cooperation in the SCO

On November 1, within the framework of the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the international organization in Minsk, Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, outlining the priorities of the republic in the SCO, stressed that the country is ready for fruitful cooperation in the information sphere with other states of the association.

“We are in favor of strengthening cooperation in the field of digital development, expanding e-commerce, stimulating the creation of national pavilions at the largest electronic platforms of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries, organizing the exchange of electronic documents,” said Golovchenko.

The Prime Minister also noted that it is necessary to develop cooperation at the level of pilot regions, industrial clusters and IT parks of the countries of the association in such areas as the digital economy and trade, artificial intelligence, big data and e-government.

Golovchenko stressed that the Belarusian High-Tech Park is ready to take an active part in the development of the software necessary to provide the above areas and share the necessary experience.

Also, among the main priorities of Belarus in the SCO at the meeting of heads of government were mentioned: ensuring regional and international security, developing economic cooperation, including expanding joint work on the supply of agricultural products, as well as enhancing cooperation in the energy sector.
