Journalists of the Largest British Media Estimate the Sights of Kazakhstan

27 April 2023

Journalists of the largest British media such as BBC, TripReporter, The Week, National Geographic Traveler, Lonely Planet, Suitcase, Wanderlust visited Kazakhstan, El.kz reports. The press tour to Almaty and the Almaty region was organized by the Kazakh Tourism National Company with the support of Air Astana.

Representatives of the British media noted the reasonable prices in Kazakhstan, comparing them with European ones. “Kazakhstan resorts in this regard, in terms of price-quality ratio, are a wonderful alternative (to Western holiday destinations),” said journalist Chloe Hernandez.

“Such events help not only to get the media representatives themselves familiar with the tourism of our country, but also to convey information to potential tourists from the UK about the availability of travel to Kazakhstan,” the Kazakh news agency El.kz clarifies.

In 2022, the national company Kazakh Tourism and the air carrier Air Astana organized an informational tour for European travel agencies in the south of Kazakhstan. And this year, one of the tour operators began sending tourists from London to the West Kazakhstan city of Aktau.

Air Astana, together with Kazakh Tourism, plans in May 2023 to introduce another group of British journalists to the tourism opportunities in the southwestern part of Kazakhstan. This time, the Mangistau region was chosen as the place for the press tour.

Recall that at the beginning of 2023, Kazakhstan and the UK announced their intention to sign a new agreement on strategic partnership and cooperation, which follows from a joint statement by the heads of the foreign affairs departments of the two countries, Mukhtar Tleuberdi and James Cleverley.

The interlocutors expressed hope for the further development of the Kazakh-British strategic partnership. Kazakh Foreign Minister Tleuberdi invited Cleverley to visit Kazakhstan in the near future, it said.
