On December 8, within the framework of the Bishkek Investment Summit, a media forum EURASIAN MEDIA SPACE. THE ROLE OF INFORMATION POLICY IN THE PROMOTION OF EURASIAN INTEGRATION PROJECTS.

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, emphasized that the forum held on the eve of the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Bishkek is a bold and successful proposal made by representatives of business circles of Kyrgyzstan:

— I believe that a new stage in the development of the EAEU will be associated precisely with the strengthening of investment and innovation cooperation and project integration. Let’s hope that this summit will be effective in terms of results.

Opening the work of the thematic platforms, Danil Ibraev, Chairman of the Presidium, President of the EAEU Business Council, said that guests from 12 partner countries are participating in the summit:

— The Bishkek Investment Summit plans to annually attract a large number of partners not only from the EAEU countries, but also from the states with which we plan to intensify relations. The purpose of the forum is to discuss issues that are relevant to everyone.

One of these issues was discussed at the Eurasian Media Space. The Role of Information Policy in the Promotion of Eurasian Integration Projects”.

— Eurasian integration needs a network of professional journalists who would be trained and able to convey information to the public in an accessible form. Sergey Glazyev, Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC, outlined the problem. — After the May Economic Forum, the Eurasian Network University was created. At the moment, there are 19 universities in the educational consortium, programs are being actively formed.

Secretary of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrey Belyaninov noted the need to pay special attention to training the young generation of media industry practitioners who manage to win impressive audiences in a digital environment without appropriate training:

— In modern realities, some bloggers gather larger audiences than the leading national TV channels. We need to work with them, we need to educate them,— Belyaninov stressed.

The speakers agreed that it is the activities of national mass media journalists that directly influence the popularization of integration ideas among the mass audience.

— The Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University has been implementing the educational program Covering Eurasian Integration in the Media, approved by the Eurasian Economic Commission, for the third year. The demand for it from students and the number of graduate qualification papers on this topic is growing every year,” emphasized the director of the Center for Eurasian Media Studies of the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosova Olga Vikhrova. – Due to the high interest of students this semester, the discipline “Media Policy and Information Security of Integration Associations” was developed and approved for undergraduates. We are ready to share practical experience and methods of teaching these disciplines with colleagues from EAEU universities who have a corresponding need.

At the site of the media forum, the idea was put forward to include relevant programs in the areas of training offered within the framework of the Eurasian Network University. In turn, representatives of higher educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan reported that among the universities of the republic there is a request for disciplines developed at the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University to prepare journalists for covering Eurasian integration in the media.

The summit venues also hosted the sessions “Main Directions and Priorities of Scientific and Technical Cooperation in the EAEU”, “Innovative Technologies in Education”, “Network Forms of Interaction in Education: Eurasian Network University”, as well as meetings of the Presidium of the EAEU Business Council and the Council of the International Congress industrialists and entrepreneurs.
